For the climate, flying to New York is worse than taking a long shower. But is it 10 times worse or 1000 times worse? The carbon footprint of our actions has been widely analyzed and quantified, but it does not mean that people are well aware of their impact. In this project, we aim at understanding the perception that people have of their actions and how does it compare to the actual carbon footprint of such actions.

We have already collected the dataset, developed the statistical model, and obtained a beautiful Web design in HTML/CSS (see http://www.climpact.ch). Your task will be to implement the rest of the interface.

We expect from you to code the backend in Python (Flask) and the frontend (JavaScript, HTML, CSS). The skeleton of the architecture is in place.

Requirements:

• Strong skills in full-stack Web development (Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
• Being independent and autonomous
• Knowledge of machine learning a plus
• Willing to save the planet a big plus :)

Conditions:

• Paid CHF 26.- / hour
• 15-20 hour / week
• Until December
• On the EPFL campus or remotely
